oem centre section exhaust
hi, can anyone confirm, wether this be on a newage or classic sti, the oem centre pipe is resonated but not catted, so when you purchase a stainless centre pipe that is resinated, how is this a performance gain?, its the same size and shape pipe etc, is it just for noise?
if you run a sports cat or decat downpipe and would like to keep the system resonated then leaving the oem should be fine as regards to a remap? , i cant see how a replacement centre which is resonated would improve anything other than slightly more noise due to the shape of the resonator?

It’s not a cat , it’s just resonated , there is little point in changing it unless you buy a delete section , it will be about 25 per cent louder , it does sound a lot better , it does not need a remap , two different lengths , every subaru i have had i have done a delete and not regretted it , exhaust flows a bit better as a result of doing it , it is pretty easy to swap out
