Induction kit advice

Default Induction kit advice

Hi I'm looking for advice on induction kit and which one to go with thinking off getting a ramair but wondering what everyone is running.

running a hks mushroom filter ATM but seems everyone gives them a bad review

Perrin or rcm are the main tried and tested ones.

Best thing for that hks mushroom filter is to burn it

it was on the car when I bought it. How come it's got so bad of a reputation?

Very poor filtration and bad for the MAF sensor

Heard horror stories about the ram air too,bits of foam being sucked into the turbo!

Imagine the damage the particles do to the turbine blades when they are spinning at 1000's of RPM per second.

Just replace with one of these as your car is mapped to this type of setup

There’s a few that do the enclosed kit as this so there’s less engine bay heat getting soaked by the filter




I think my mate has one in the pics above for sale but not 100% sure

You are running a top mount so throw a filter into the wing. Go K&N they get really good reviews but I'm surprised no one has mentioned going back to the original airbox with panel filter.

I'd say keep the original. Just put a Cosworth or K&N in there. Job done. If you want more induction noise then take out the snorkel in the wing behind the wheel arch liner

Removing the snorkel will decrease the "hopper effect" that collects large particles and stops them from entering the air filter box.
