Default Best place to get a Hawkeye milltek sports cat

Just had my car in for MOT and had to get a cat fitted for the test. I’m thinking of getting a sports cat fitted to go with my 3” milltek system but wondering where would be best to get from. So far the price is a bit steep to say the least so wondering what other options may suit H&S etc. Oh if anyone’s got one for sale let me know.

Milltek are quite savvy and make bespoke length exhaust systems. Only Milltek fit Milltek unless you have custom made.

I'm interested in this also...

I'm half thinking of getting the japspeed sports cat, but reviews are mixed with them.

Ideally I'd personally not want to spend more than 400 for the sports cat section, but it seems quite difficult if you want something that isn't one of the japspeed (and others on eBay).

Another option I'm considering is welding in a sports cat to a decat down pipe. Might be way cheaper.

The point I am making is that the sections on Milltek exhaust systems are varied compared to OE items. For example the length from the back box of a Milltek to the centre pipe of a Ninja is different.

My post was a general thing, to save people going down the crapspeed route or cutting/welding as mentioned above.

Need some help understanding this then.

The sports cat would be in the down pipe would it not.

Is the Milltek cat back system not designed to go from the down pipe back, either the standard down pipe or an aftermarket down pipe if you have one fitted.

If that's the case then surely any sports cat down pipe would fit with the milltek cat back system as long as I go for a 3" sports cat to suit the milltek I have fitted.

If you have a milltek cat back, then it's correct length to fit either the standard downpipe or a replacement, mine was attached to a Japspeed one originally, now is connected to the prodrive.
As for £400 what about a cobra 200 cell ? Not heard any bad reviews of them, or are they the same as the crapspeed ?

Milltek do 2 different systems, the one I have is the larger 3" system. Thanks for the clarity matching the down pipe, I was thinking about cobra and I think you can get it custom with the 3" bore as I believe the standard one tapers to 2.5".

I had a sports cat from them (about 7 years ago), and it wasn't even close to passing the emissions, so I'm personally keen to avoid going to them based on that. This was the 'afterburner' sports cat IIRC, but I see they now do a different selection, so maybe a different branded one might be OK.

yeah I think I might eventually go for one of the cobra ones tbh... probably get a full system (the track day friendly one).

That’s another route I may go down, the full track day system + sports cat isn’t a huge amount more than the milltek sports cat on its own.

is a Milltek 3" available off the shelf now, all I see are 2.75 ? My 3" system was fitted over 10years ago, parts-MSSUB 129NC downpipe/ MSSUB127/128 centre section/rear silencer, all 3".

The garage I got mine from got it from eurocarparts. They delivered the wrong system first then got the 3” next day.
This was a year ago and I’d checked with roadrunner and it seemed an off the shelf option.
