Default Rcm filter hits bonnet

having recently fitted a Fmic I bought a Rcm cone filter and trumpet, which when fitted my bonnet won’t close it just bent the filter badly, the filter won’t go low enough due to the abs block below it.
Is there any other options of filter that aren’t quite as big it can be longer but not as round.
needs to be suitable for 450hp tho
cheers

Here's how I fitted mine. The filter seems tucked away but gets plenty of air for a high 400s output.

theres no room anywhere to go under the pipe, it’s just squashed in there at the moment, but not happy as it’s bent the filter a lot and is rubbing on the abs block below.
might see if I can get a smaller filter, it can be longer but not as round

The problem is the silicon hose joined to the MAF tube. Mine bends more towards the back of the car

Yea I know what you mean,I have tried moving it onto more of a 45 degree but it just fouls the cooler pipe and is worse than it is now.
will have to be a smaller filter I think more of a tube design

You have to cut and reposition the cool side pipe so it redirects over the filter. You need silicon pipe connectors and it's a bit of a fiddle but you keep the big cone and don't have to bend anything.

Have found a big tube style k&n that will fit in without having to modify the pipe and hopefully itl flow enough air.
got a 76mm neck to got straight into the inlet pipe and it’s 30cm long by 15cm wide

Hi,

I’m looking at getting a fmic and seen the problems that some short rams can cause by fouling with the Intercooler pipes coming through the wing.

What short ram filters can I get for my 2003 blobeye that will fit in around the piperwork and abs block etc ? I can’t seem to find anything.

Thanks in advance

Jazzy where did you get your filter from and then the attaching pipework for your maf sensor to fit in to ? Looks like yours fits well around your Intercooler pipework in your engine bay
