How dark is dark?
I don’t want to mess about with flimsy tint film it’s got to be a proper spray job just need to know if there’s a certain amount of coats etc of tint/ laquer needed
There’s plenty of sets on eBay bro get modding
You can BUY these if things go pear shaped
£65 plus tint cost cash on collection as always

I’ve seen a few done with the tint film and close up there’s creases and bubbles especially near the blob bit of the lense or some type of imperfections
Any chance of some close up pics of yours and what typ3 of tint shade you used
Please thanks
Darkness wise abit of black mixed in with laquer and I’m going to take it one coat at a time so won’t be too dark fingers crossed

I was in 2 minds about having them done. I didnt like them stock, was going to spray tint them but decided to try wrapping first. I know the chap who does the tinting and we agreed that he would do on side to see if i liked it if not he would take it off and i would pay him for just the 1 light. They turned out ok. Im half tempted to get another set split them(you have to cut them open ) and paint them like my front lights .
Good luch with yours whatever you decide to do with them

Do you know what shade they used please it’ll be appreciated rather than guessing myself
I was going to take them apart and do them as You mentioned before but the method you’ve chosen seems bang on and much less fackery for Defo and worth a try
Thankyou for your input again Jon

They only had a light one and a dark one. He held them up to one of the lights so i could see. The light one was almost a **** colour he said the use it mostly on front lights. The dark one was the one they used. Just went there with a few pics i had found on the net he took one look and said thats the dark one.
Sorry i cant be more specific. But if you show who ever is going to do it the pictures of mine the should know what to use.

i understand why you want to do them , they do look nice but are illegal , it’s like tinting front windows , risk of mot hassle depending on how friendly they are plus plod especially traffic police , then to add to that telling the insurance company plus the driver that hits you from behind and those immortal words i could not see his lights

Thats why i went for tint film it doesnt really effect the light they put out and the police aint bothered had them behind me loads of times.
Spray on the other hand kills most of the light output and makes them too dark
Plus by using tint film you can just peel it off if you get pulled. If you spray them you need new lights

Chill out guys everyone has there own opinion and a DIFFRENT idea on how they want things
I got the hawk ones really cheap and have always wanted to do this to hawk rear lights for the sake of it and I’m a little bored as always so this is main reason for the mod
I’ll always have my genuine ones to go back on aswell
Hey guys could be worse and by fly paper set on eBay at £70 I paid £65 all in
Here’s a pic and this is chavved IMO where as the smoke tint on Jon’s looks spot clean tidy as it’s a flat surface with no blob bit sticking out on but each to thereown I guess
I also have a mate who’ll take them off m6 hands if I don’t like’em at cost
