Default Air Con question

Hi all,

2.5 STi MY07

Very annoying in the summer when the air con runs for about 5 second blasts....grrrr....rant over.

Anyway, I wanted to use my A/C for demisting earlier, and whilst the light on the button was lit, I didn't hear the air con kick in so clearing my windscreen inside took longer. No frost on the car, just wet.

Is this because the outside temp was only 2 degrees so my a/c wont come on?
Belt is there, thought that may have snapped.

Sounds as if it needs re-gassing given both your "problems"................................

Mine doesn't click as such but the clutch does engage and the bit in the middle of the compressor does spin for a bit then stops. Like you said in intervals.

The only reason you'll need to re-gas aircon is if it has a leak, so gt it checked over. It should kick in as soon as you hit the button.

No reason whatsoever to get it checked as the car is 10 years old and most cars need regassed at about 8 year both My 09 Impreza and 08 MX5 need done at that time. Some last a bit longer than that.

Just get your local garage to re gas the system. Typical requirement at that age of car.
