Which turbo to go for on my forged 2.5
Just looking at different turbo options on my forged hatch STI, im on a standard position GT3071r at the minute and make 450hp but it is slightly laggy. I'm wanting to go roatated soon and was thinking of going for a GT3076r, has anybody done the same if so how does it feel? What else should I consider? Cheers

you wont get much better spool vs power so your gonna have to drop your target, your also wasting alot of money going rotate just for the sake of it when standard positions turbo's will easily do it.

I know the standard position turbos have come on a lot but I want to be different and a rotated turbo looks boss too. Still pricing up at the minute so will have to compare.

Running a standard location GTX3076R on my Forged CDB 2.5.
Still running the engine in at the moment at low boost (0.7 bar), but it feels great, spools very quickly. That's about all I can say at the moment until it's run in.

Look at precision turbo for stock location, I reckon it's way better than the sc46, most sc46 I've seen barley make the 460hp but more the sc42 power with lag, you need a proper good set up inc worked heads to make a comfy 460 from what I've seen but it is best suited to a 2.5 engine.
Or rotated look at Borg warner, they are coming the top daddy's ATM for spool and power.
All depends on you hp target vs spool what you choose.

Been reading about the FP Red too but wondered how suited it would be to a 2.1 AVCS?
Initially looked as SC/Blouch turbos but heard of some experiencing cracked exhaust housings?
Seen a few making good numbers on FP Greens but not sure what the difference is between the green and red?
Turbo is last on my list for my blob and i've been holding off on purchase as initially the aim was around 420bhp but we have engineered everything for up to 600 so a 500 capable turbo would be more suited. Short list I have so far are
MD321V
Precision
FP Green/Red
SC46 or 50

one thing to remember with the FP turbos is they use there own a 83mm inlet for there turbos (as a option I think) ,,, you can then buy there own 83mm inlet pipe , works very well and no sign of collapsing ,, and was very easy to fit swell as didn't have to remove the inlet to fit it either

Just to clarify, whats the reasons for going rotated? As previously said, theres standard position spooly turbos out there.
It sounds like excessive work and expense just for a "boss" looking engine bay!

Thanks for all the input.
I have since decided to stick with the standard position turbo as I was offered a very good turbo that should suit my setup nicely and is proven on the 2.5 (precision turbo)
The reason I wanted to go with a rotated setup mainly is simply to have the most efficient and least laggy setup I could have but after listening to people and doing further research the gains didn't justify the extra cost as people have stated.
