Default Lots of rubbish Scoobies out there

So i've been on the hunt for a nice, repeat nice Classic Type R...There's probably a couple currently advertised that i haven't seen but I've seen most of them..All utter crap and not as described quite frankly..

I've yet to see one that is legit..

I've seen more overspray this week than on a bukkake film set...

Bubbling arches, laquer peel, rattle can resprays, knackered bolsters, chopped up parcel shelves, chopped up dashboards....

butchered engines, silly zorsts, multiple paint shades on the same car,

dinks, dints, dents, donks and knocks...

scuffs, scrapes, scars, scratches and scrawpes...

tyres dripping with rapid resale shinola.....All tat, and all top, top money...

Then there's the chancers who advertise at one price, then bang a few more grand on because of the passing internet interest...Or the cars that have been ruined by tasteless mods...I do not want to buy a pretend time attack car..

All in a single week...

Some right plonkers have Scoobies and show precisely zero respect for such great machines.

There's plenty out there. You have to remember there an old car, all imported. There will be mint ones out there but you will have to be prepared to pay the money. Or just import one yourself.

Been there done that..sold mine in 2012..loved it, but ultimately it's a Type R with all the cool stuff removed.

Yeah...I've put another thread on here about importing...This is almost certainly the road I'll go down...

It's heartbreaking to think that i sold my UK2000 back in 2009 for about £1700..And it was in fantastic condition.I had to almost give it away...Then i bought my P1, ran that for a few years and sold that for under £8k...If only i'd known!!

Paid £2200 for my classic about 7 years ago, my wrx import was £1500 10 years ago.

Few links any good?

the first one went online last night..spoke to the bloke about it..I wanted interior pics..Mileage is at 92k though, there's no Japanese auction sheet and it's a V4, not V5 or V6 which is what Im really after..
the second one is the bloke who decided to raise the price from £11k to £15k after the first day on there..bit cheeky i thought, particularly when you see that the interior needs sorting...£15k should be a flawless show car imho...plus it hasn't got the original engine and it hasn't got the original gearbox...

i basically want a straight low(ish) miles V5/V6 with the original transmission and engine..I don't mind a few mild, sensible mods...ie: ECU, pipe, coilovers, brakes..but engine swaps, roll cages, welded in seats etc ruins the original car imho.

I've considered selling mine. No good for you as it's a V4 with mods. However it's been in the UK from new. It's only has a few owners - me for the last 13 years. It's had a 6 speed DCCD 'box and brakes from a newage fitted. Engine is original and the whole car has only done 45k miles from new. She resides in a heated garage and will stay there until I decide to sell up.

saw another shed today (won't say where)...
driver's seat felt/smelt like a toilet seat...
My knees were up so high i was expecting a Proctologist to make an appearance...It was a whisker under £10k so can't grumble....What do you expect when it's so cheap??

Yeah i spoke to Max about his stock a few weeks ago..He did have a blue one (V4), but they had sold sometime ago..I think he keeps it up there to keep his phone ringing.
I don't want a white car...
I really want either sonic blue or grey...If she's going to be a keeper, you might as well get it right.

have you thought about buying a 'knackered' one and giving it some tlc? if you can do the work yourself you might save some money.

I bought mine (albeit not type r) for £2k about 5 years ago and used as a daily until deciding to refurb last year.. Once I have the arches done and a respray (big cost I know) id be hoping it would be nearing the £7k + value. Not that id want to sell it mind. Blood sweat and tears gone into it.

Went to look at a 2005 WRX Prodrive wagon last week and it was crap. By far the worse thing was the clutch as in order to pull away you had to rev the car to 3000rpm. The seller point blank refused to believe the clutch needed replacing and apparently I was being too picky!

Accessing the DVLA MOT pages reveals much about a car without even moving off the sofa. Especially when you ask for photographs of the underside of a car, that normally exacts a response.

I think my search is over!
It's a bit early in the day to reveal any details, but if all goes well, it will be a very nice Type R....
Sorry to be a ***** teaser, but i don't want to jinx anything!

I cant go in to to much detail about my experience with them just yet but once its all settled ill be putting a full write up for sure to warn others.

I couldn't find anything bad about them before we travelled up from the Isle of Wight and he had some lovely cars in there. Unfortunately we ended up buying one and its been nothing but hassle since the day we bought it and the aftercare was truly awful
