I bought a second hand 2013 Subaru Impreza off lease, just over 3 years old and 61,000km from a Subaru dealer in Quebec Canada. Within five months the air conditioning system has started to develop leaks. Two seals were replaced at the compressor and a few weeks later another leak discovered at the condenser. I have owned a 1997 and 2000 model Impreza both with in excess of 200,000 km without any air conditioner issues. Can anyone suggest a reason for the premature leaks developing so early in the life of this car?

It could literally be a bad unit. I'm not sure how things work out there but assuming you are getting it checked at the main dealer. Why not take it to a specialist who can test the system and should be able to work out where the leaks are.
