Default Too good to be true

So i came across this Impreza Wagon 2004 with 72,000 miles for a bargain £2195. Seemed very cheap, whats the problem with it i thought. Dug abit deeper and found.

7 June 2010 Expiry date
6 June 2011 Test Result Pass
Odometer reading 158,939 miles

And that's why I'd never even consider buying anything from Gumtree... It's the equivalent of going buying a car off the dodgiest, scummiest council estate you can find.

No, in theory he's not done anything wrong, he could just say he didn't know the clocks have been changed at some point. Its done nearly 170,000 miles, so thats alot more than listed.

don't know where you get 170k miles from ?

At the last MOT a couple of years ago it had only done 66k miles

Given that discrepancy you would think the MOT authorities would be asking questions or putting something on the certificate to explain the change in mileage ?!?
