Cool West Midlands Owners

Hi All,

It would be great to meet those from the Midlands at some point. I'm based in Walsall. Let me know if anyone fancies a coffee and show and tell

Cheers,
Nick

Cool

Hi there,

I'm in parkhall. Let me know if there is a meet at some point. It would be good to get an opinion on a couple of bits that I'd like to address on the car mechanically.

Cheers,
Nick

Sounds good, do you know where I can get hold of the dates? Is that the one in Nottingham?

Just a slight knock every so often from rear offside shocks. Had the car on a ramp and all seems fine. I hear its a common issue ans that they just need greasing every 6 months?

Its inbetween derby and nottingham. Have a look on there forum for detail. Knocking shocks are common and you will need to do a greese nipple mod or give the lads at m.b development a call there is a good chance they got some decent shocks in stock or some nice coilovers depending how much you want to spend.

that just covers it up. new shocks is by far a better option

Exactly this. I had knocking rear shocks on my hawkeye and used the white grease trick, which masked the issue for a few months at a time.

Only way I really overcame this was to swap to Pedders.

If your after meets try msoc.com.....midland subaru owners club! Plenty of meets...events....trips to shows and other great stuff! They do a monthly meet at the clock warehouse at Shardlow near derby. You get good attendance and good people attend! If your after work done on your car try pole position at Willenhall.....good garage and good lads who know scoobys through and through! Always take my type r there and get a quality service by the lads there!

Thanks for this, I've emailed to join the mailing list but had a failure report. I've got the address anyway.

I'll definately be needing new shocks at some point rather then a temporary measure. I'll line up some quotes for the parts in the mean time. Just trying to keep costs down.

Any suggestions for particular brands I could go for? Just a set of rear shocks for daily use. Only use car 5 days a week for approx 100 miles per week which will be even less once my daughter starts school which is half a mile from the house

Pop into Mattyb's he's the main man for scoobys on your manor, he knows everyone with a Subaru.
