Default Forged rebuild ?

Is there anyway to find out if a car has been rebuilt if theres no receipt ?

Not really, unless you can contact the company that did the work and they supply you with a copy of rebuild spec.

Or you could post up for previous owners of the car if they have any info/paperwork. Other than that you would have to strip it down to look at the components.

You could remove a crankcase plug which allows access to the piston pins,you should be able to see the rods and piston skirts,this might tell you if it's got forged internals?
A bit extreme and I don't suppose it's guaranteed to tell you 100%

Possibly a boroscope to see the piston tops might identify the piston? again not 100%

+1 for boroscope.will give you a better idea.done it on my hatchback before I could get the paperwork for it.
