Hi gents,

I am looking at this SC36 on ebay which should be billet right? The description says it was rebuilt and I have contacted the seller who is a breaker who doesn't seem to know much about it and also doesn't have a receipt for the rebuild. The dark colour suggests to me it has a cast wheel installed or am I wrong?

Any help appreciated.

Looks like the description was written by an ape, I'd give it a miss personally. Unless you live near by and can go and have a look at it first.
you can usually see milling marks on a billet comp wheel and I can't see any on those pics.
It also says no play in the shaft.. so it's either knackered or they're lying because a turbo always has play as that's were the oil goes when the engine is running

thats wrong bud, ball bearing turbos can have more play than journal bearing units.
In fact the gtx30r on my car right now has an alarming amount of play, but has been checked and tested and well within tolerance, as it should after covering 10000miles.
the 1k mile old scr35r billet that was on before that had even more play.

If there's no play then there's no room for oil, therefore it's metal against metal.... Very bad

skimmed through it, just salesman jibber jabber, I couldn't find anything that said there's no play in the shaft.... Because there has to be.
A mate of mine has just built a gsxr1000 turbo for the world wheeley competition, bought a brand new Garrett gtx3071r and guess what..... Shaft play.
