Default Steering wheel clock spring

Morning

What does a clock spring do ?.

Was changing steering wheel on my bug sti jam last night and found I need the clock spring out the way to fit sparco wheel and hub .car is not going back on the road only track use

Possibly steering angle sensor too. Wouldn't be 100% about that.

Don't need horn or airbag so that's ok sorry another question what does a steering angle sensor do ?

Tells power steering module which way the wheels are pointing (or how much they have turned/how much force applied). It's attached to the hub (at least that's how VWs work, of the ones that I've dealt with).
