Default 95H Mica Blue? Two Types?

Hi All,

So i managed to finally pick up a mica blue 95H bootlid, of ebay for my classic.

I put it on, and it has a slight different shade of colour. (darker) and more of a solid blue. Now the colour on my car is stated 95H, and in the ebay advert this guy had stated it was 95H. but its not the same blue. it looks like its a different type of blue.

Does anyone know if there was another type of mica blue?

I assume im going to have to get it re sprayed but if the painter sprays it 95H. it should match correct?

My subaru is a 2000 UK Classic.

Thanks All.

Are you sure the bootlid is 95H?
MY99 cars are 52D - dark blue mica
MY00 cars are 95H - deep blue mica.

Very similar colours, but very different when on the same car.

Paintshop made the same mistake on my MY99 car in 2003

Thanks for all the replies.

Well that explains it, i believe the one i have is from a 99 and is a 52D dark blue mica.

The guy had advertised the wrong details. before i knew it, it was to late to return but i only paid a small amount for it. I guess it is worth the re spray.

My 1994 wagon was deep blue mica and that paint code was 313 or 331 i cant remember which.

Some colours have different shades/variants of the same colour, so its possible the shade is different even though the colour codes the same. It could of also been painted in the past and the wrong colour primer has been used.

I've just done a respray on mine and when going to a very good auto paint shop with my paint code 64c mix a green. But yes there are two shades of it. A darker and a lighter......took a wing in with me and after 20mins deliberating we settled on one.......the wrong one ha ha. Well it happenseems to be the correct one if matched to the interior pain but mine has had a previous spray and was bigger fleck in it......so now mine looks a little patchy

Yep. Glanzas in Toyota Brilliant White have the same colour code but one has white made up with a green in it and one has it made up with a red or something similar!

Bloody silly. Why not have a code of 95ha and 95hb or 64c1 and 64c2......save the **** ache of now having to go to the time effort and cost of respraying.....again

Anyone know any decent body shops in the Loughborough or Coventry area lol

I either, wait and search for the right colour bootlid, or spray it, but that is extra cost and will have to get it blended in with the quaters.

ergh! really dont know what to do.

All i wanted to do was have a mid level spoiler rather than the big spoiler, but i cant even use that ornginal boot lid as there are wholes all over the place on that one.

We use a company called colour flash, they come out and mix the paint from the schemes on the van, they match the shade with the cards first then mix the colour. You can always take the fuel flap off your car and give it the paint suppliers to match it.

mate they only need like a 3 in square to scan your paint, your better off getting it scanned rather than the original paint matched and blended in

Problem solved.

I took the wing/boot lid back of yesterday night and replaced it back with the original wing and boot-lid.

the car is not worth me messing around with it, so my end conclusion is, as i had first thought some time ago, when i have some more funds, il get myself a type ra or jdm.

simples!

thanks guys for all your help!
