Default Advice needed

can anyone have a read of this description and tell what the worse case scenario would be on this car

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152323785011

I'm not really mechanically minded but did a bit of poking around the internet and what i can work out it could just be a blocked radiator so £100 part but could it be worse and if so how bad could it be.

thanks

There is no known way to bleed a Subaru cooling system to 'remove air pockets'
Possible head gasket failure.
But might just need draining and refilling the correct way.
Gambler?

Worth getting professionally checked if you're interested. It could be simple, like this thread:

Or it could be a head gasket failure. But a sniff test should help, although I've heard they're not always 100%.

Agree but why wouldn't you fix it before selling?
Sniffs of rip off *pun intended
Unfortunately there are plenty of dishonest people about.
caveat emptor.

BUT I might be wrong and it could be a bargain?

I wouldn't bother with it. As Rich said sounds dodgy. To give the radiator a full flush is a 15 min job. Plus who decides to check there bottom hose us hot for no reason?

Another point to mention is sounds like he's not had the car for long. Sounds like he knows what the fault is but doesn't want to dig any further and just get rid.

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll avoid this one having thought about it a bit more it does look a bit dodgy. If it was an easy fix they would have fixed it instead of discounting it £1250. I think the seller knows the problem and costs involved and now trying to off load.

Shame, it looks a nice car
