Default Any issues swapping to a JDM front jack plate/crossmember?

I have got my hands on a Do Luck underbrace and have been scratching my head for a week or so as to why it won't quite line up correctly. Then I randomly discovered that JDM cars seem to have a different jacking plate at the front that doesn't have a lip on the rear of it like my UK widetrack's does.

I've no idea if it's just a JDM part or a pre 2005 part in the UK etc. All I know is that I've discovered it on a JDM car.

I can't see there being any issues swapping the parts over but just thought I should check on here, just in case.

Some JDM models switched to the later jacking plate/support arrangement earlier than 05,
Early version

Later version (Wide track and Hawkeye)

JDM WRX changed to later support 03/2004

Any reason why though Don?

If need be I'll sell the brace and get something else, but if it's for some trivial reason then I will see about swapping it over.

No idea why they changed it early apart from JDM models usually got upgrades first.
The JDM STi kept the early vrsion for longer.

just to help clarify

G11 STi revisions A-D have our 04 cross member
revisions E-G have our 05 crossmember

G11 STi revisions A-F have the early support arm plus jacking plate
revision G has the later support arm (all in one version)

Get hold of an early support plate and jack up plate and you should be OK

Plate-jack up, 20510AA000

Support arm, front, 20107FE001

So, just to save me being confused (easily done!) are there just the two versions or is there a 3rd as I thought?

There are three, but only two that affect the wrx and sti

1) jacking plate ( other models apart from wrx/sti variants)

2) jacking plate plus support arm (early version/arrangement)

3) all in one support arm (later version)

For UK cars the "all in one support arm" arrived with the wide track. In Japan it arrived earlier on the WRX but didn't get fitted to the STi until revision G (equivalent to MY07 Hawkeye)

Ah so if they fitted it to widetracks in Japan it should be fine in theory. Excellent, thanks Don.
