Default 16" Tyre Recommendations - 1999 WRX RA

Hi peeps, need help. My mate is running 16" wheels on his RA and just changed to Rainsport 3's after being recommended them but says the side walls are making the car handle dangerously. Says they grip well but the side wall flex makes the car squirm all over the place making them unpredictable.

Any recommendations for 16's please?

Did you go for the standard side wall or the XL?
XL being stiffer. Good tyre for the money

ADO8R is about as good as your gonna get

Think he's going to go back to the RSR's based on knowing what he's getting. Only thing he didnt like with them was wet grip once theyre below 4mm so will have to keep an eye on how quick a new set wear as they were on it when he bought it.

I'm using 205/50/16 on a V2 RA. Road wheels have Toyo T1R's and RSR's on my track day rims. The T1R's are rubbish on the road, noisey and skitterish in the dry and have let go several times at the rear under power. The RSR's are a very good value track day tyre but wouldn't expect much from them on the road unless it was a near perfect surface.
I used Toyo R1R's before they were discontinued and thought they were excellent on the road or track both wet and dry. Next purchase will be Advan AD08's for both road and track use.
