Question

As some of you know I run a business and am trying to decide weather to advertise in the Thomson Directory. If you were looking to purchase a service or item, which would you pick up. Thomsons or the Yellow Pages?

Also does anyone use Yel.com or Thomweb?

Anyone who responds will be entitled to a free bacon butty at any trackday they meet me at

Many thanks for your assistance.

Cool

Smoked or unsmoked ?

Seriously though, never looked sideways at Thomsons even though there is one in the house. If I'm at home I would tend to pick up yellow pages, if at work I use Yell.

I do use yell.co.uk
Find it rather useful.
DO NOT take up Yellow Pages Web design / Hosting offer. Its very expensive and very basic. Talk to me first.
The trouble with yellow pages hardcopy is that to really do well with it you have to have a service not offered by many, or the company name starts with an A or you are prepared to invest in a big ad.

Thumbs up

Andy

How about a website whilst you are at it advertising your services? Cost less than a newspaper advert but last forever.

I will do you one on the cheap

Mail me if you are interested.

Cool

Yellow Pages and Business Pages. seems to work well. Business Pages get you a wider audience pound for pound.

Can`t wait for me bacon butty

yum yum.

Tomato sauce in mine please.

I never use thompsons, dont know why I keep it actually!

Yellow pages all the time.

I find Yell.com crap, but maybe its just me.
Everyone I work with still uses the yellow pages rather than Yell.Com as well.

Exclamation

Guess I must be the only one who uses Thompson then?

East London Yellow Pages is Huge and covers a vast Area. Thompson is smaller and covers a more local area.

If im looking for a local service, Thompson is much easier to wade through.

Many thanks for your help here guys, from what you have said I shall not be parting with the best part of 3 Grand. Which means I should be able to stretch to a cup of tea as well .

FYI DW I had a banner on 22B for 6 months, didn't generate any business though. I shall however be putting up a banner here in the next couple of weeks, just need to update the website first.

Once again thanks.

Andy
