Wink Insurance/Value of WR1's

Hi all,

That age old question again, where is the best place to find insurance for myself, bearing in mind I am 22! The best I've found is admiral at £850ish!

The quotes are/were being based on Impreza WR1's. Ive decided this year to take the plunge into Subaru Ownership having grown up/learnt to drive them! (my mum bought her current one 4 days before I was born!).

I really like the WR1's because of their connection to Prodrive, their colour is completely different and their rarity!
so what would I be expecting to pay for one?
Ive noticed on Ebay theres a few but seem artificially priced as they havent shifted in months!

Thanks in advance!

Unless you really want a limited edition then just look for a wide track sti it will be a better buy

Well I pay 650 a year on a type r all mods declared. I'm 31 and have 0 no claims as they are used on my daily runner!
850ish is probably very fair on a WR1.....I would expect at 22 it would be more around 1500 to 2000 due to the nature of the car. A lot of insurers now want proof that you have driven higher powered performance cars in the past or won't touch you! I was lucky to get insured on the type r as it's an import and the last car I owned which was a performance car was a mr2 turbo over 4 years ago.

I would try gary at keith michaels and a plan for a quote......Keith michaels were bob on for me.

I pay just under £600 for my wr1, and I'm 36 with 15 years ncb. £850 is a great price. Prices are definitely on the up. If you can find a decent example for around £10k then I wouldn't feel hard done by.

Hi,

Please feel free to give us a try for insurance if you like. If you wanted to PM me some contact details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.

Regards,

Dan.

If you can get £850 at 22 on a WR1 I'd suggest you take it, you'll struggle to beat that

Cheers guys!
I was expecting the 10k mark, so I guess the hunt for a WR1 starts now!
