Default MOT Soon what's the score with loud exhausts

Hi All

MOT due mid August just wanted to know what the score is with a loud exhaust fitted, is there any stipulation on the DB of the exhaust ? I have the Nur Spec R fitted mid section and back box with original down pipe and Prodrive sports cat.

as long as there are no holes in the exhaust and it passes emissions I doubt they would care tbh,
I use a local place that only does MOT`s, so find they arent looking for work.

On a car it's not port of the test, only bikes can be failed for excessive noise and that is at the testers descression as no DB meter is used.

They can give you an advisory for anything louder than 'standard OEM' but don't think they can fail it

whilst there is no set db limit, if a tester deems it excessive it could be failed

Use a garage you trust to do the test, or ask before you book it for an MOT.. will they fail on your exhaust noise. Most don't bother!
