Default KPH - MPH converter - where to wire?

Ok so my current speedo converter is on the loom going from the speedo sensor on the gearbox and its melted it. I have a spare plug in loom so this isnt a problem but was thinking about wiring it behind the cluster?

If anyones done one on a 1999/2000 let me know what you did.

Cheers
