Default Seat Choice?

I am looking to replace my front seats with something more supportive.

Car currently has some Prodrive Recaro electric seats in there. They are nice seats, but the back on the seat is flimsy plastic and the drivers one has broken, due to the design of the seat, this allows for the side bolsters to move. Not ideal.

My misses got me a pair of Bride gias seats, replica ones it turns out!

While they where lovely seats, they were way too tight for me! Felt like I was being squashed.

Im 6'1 and around 16 stone at the moment, working on losing a few pounds!

So what have you guys got in your cars? Not really interested in any standard type seats, and would prefer a recliner unless someone can convince me to go for a fixed back seat!

Cheers

So I must be the only one who wants to change their seat from a factory fitted one then!

Seats are a personal choice, there's loads of designs on that website to choose from so whatever floats your boat.

I went for the cheaper end but ok looks and decent comfy ness fixed buckets.
They do some in XL which should be ok for you if you're on the larger side of life .

Try go to a shop like above if any close by and try them out.

Personally I swapped my Hawkeye seats for Bugeye seats as I find these to be perfect for me (and don't cost the earth second hand).

I'm 6'2 and 15 stone and have buddy club seats in mine, best bet is speak to Garreth at GSM and arrange a road trip to the show room. It really is a personal choice.

Thanks for the info chaps.

I was contemplating going to GSM, but its a 500 mile round trip!

Cant seem to find anyone in Devon who would have seats to test sit in!

Ive looked at the buddy club before. They look like they would be a good fit. Just dont like the 'RACING SPEC SPORT SEAT' embroidery on them! I know I wont see that when I sit in them! Just a shame they had to do that to the seats really!

I've always been a fan of buddy clubs products and I can't fault them, I like the logo to be honest but everyone has their own taste.

what about recaro, the ones out of Honda ek9s and dc5s, evos or the ones out of a corsa VXR are really comfy and they would probably fit with buddy club seat rails as I know Garreth (GSM) had some brackets made up so recaro's would fit the buddy club rails. (Speak to him first though)

The buddy club rails are good whatever seat you choose and they sit you lower in the car which feels like a much better driving position as I'm on the tall side like you.

I think there was a set of nice looking evo recaro's in the for sale section on here ready to bolt in.

the seats I removed from mine had airbags in so I had to push a 2.1 ohm resistor in to the plug that connected to the seat to fix the airbag light.

Actually the recaro's in your link are the same design as those in an ek9, really good seats.
