Thumbs up The hunt for a 22B

So I am on the hunt for a 22B and i am really hoping to find one where the drivetrain is missing or not usable. I saw a 22B for sale on this forum (was willing to split the motor and trans from the car) but it was sold. I really would like a shell. I would like to put everything from my RSTI into a 22B. I was wondering if anyone might have any leads or insight.

Just to clarify, i would like a 22B and not a fiberglass/carbon body kit.

No a chance unless you're gonna part with £20k...even then I doubt you will find one as a project

Finding a 22b is one thing, let alone finding just a full bare shell! We have 3 replica fibreglass shells at work, one complete running ready to go, one waiting for an engine and one bare ready to build to spec. All type R shells with the 22B kits fitted. Half the price of a genuine one, and readily available

Thank you all for replying!!! I do understand it is a tall order, and I figured this is a great place to start. I also understand that it won't be cheap, I will step up if it is right.

Depends what you want really, full hit, all done, including full repaint is in the region of 6k, that's with all rust treated windows out the lot.

Hello Ian! Thank you very much but as hard as the goal will be to accomplish, I am going to stick to my goal. I really want to build a 22B to my specs.

if you had come to me 6 months ago, this was available, but now being built to customer spec engine wise, a monster and half it will be when finished. The shell is a genuine 22b, fully seam welded full rally spec. it was the help for heroes car we ran a few years ago.

That WRC prodrive genuine rally car looks the nuts. I can't even imagine what that would be like to drive legally on the road??

TBH its horrible , the carbon clutch is either on or off , it has no rear diff , it has a spool , which is basically a solid axle , so hops and skips about low speed turning , parking ect , it uses race fuel which is £4 a litre and does a mile a litre !!

But flat out its the best thing since sliced bread

Did an event last year which we finished 1st overall , some incar here , SOME SWEARING so not work safe lol
