Default Going to look at scooby

Hello guys, might be going to look at this car on Friday, v5 sti import, 95k (miles), engine rebuilt, stock apart from wheels and exhaust. Anyone know it? What kind of ball park price wise? Guy wants £5k...

Rebuild was done at Central Subaru if anyone knows it?

Depends on if he has recipes for the build and it's from a proper subaru garage etc.
5ks not too bad but depends on condition etc
Check around rear arches for rot if there is any if avoid it as they rot inside out and are costly to fix.

Yeah there is a bit of bubbling on the rear but I kind of expected it on one of these. He says he got all the bills, Jap and English main dealer service papers etc... The garage that done the rebuild looks ok from the web page but you cant really tell from a few pics! But I can do some more digging on it..

I wouldn't pay 5K for an STI impreza with bubbling on the rear arches, going cost £350 minim to sort that out depending how bad it is.

You can get a fresh import for that money with no rust.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm trading my ST and looking at straight swap or trying to get a bit of cash my way. Just don't want to get a rotter!

The bubbling on the outside of the arch may just be the start of bigger issues.

The inner arch is integrated into the suspension turrets and if they have started to go you will be in a whole world of pain. You need to get down inside the rear boot recesses to see properly, that means taking out the boot lining on either side for a look.
