Is the 2.5 hatch known for noisy tappets?.. I do regular oil changes,oil level always good.but just seems when near wheel arches? The tappets (as in all of them) are quite noisy..also,if so? Are they hydraulic or bucket and shims.

 

They are selective bucket type ( built in shim ) and not usually noisy - the injector 'tick' is normally audible on tick-over.

Are you sure it's not leaking exhaust manifold gaskets or loose spark plugs causing the noise.

Does the noise decrease when the engine has warmed up ?

Standard or Forged engine ?

Standard engine mate,abd noise is louder when hot..it's not a big issue,just would love to get it sorted if possible..
