I have a 2006 Hawkeye with prodrive backbox and recently purchased a 2.5 none resonated centre pipe with a plan on my next purchase of a decat downpipe.

Thought I would just check with insurance company and they have no issue with centre pipe but did say I need to keep at least one cat on the car to keep it road legal which kinda scuppers my plans now.

Choice 1: decat anyway as originally planned but then run risk of void insurance policy

Choice 2: sports cat which keeps it mot friendly but is substantially more expensive than regular decat downpipe

Choice 3: not even sure there is one lol

If anybody could weigh in here and offer up any opinions/suggestions I would really appreciate it.

After the decat downpipe Im pretty much ready for a remap.

Pick new insurance company!

 

Ive only been covered with these guys since November as it is.

 

I had a full decat on my old car years ago. Crashed it never caused a problem. Sports cat all the way for me.

 

Actually got an enquiry in with ed @ japspeed about the sports cat they do.

I had decat on my classic and it was never a problem after a minor front end collision but dont particularly wanna have void insurance.

Im hoping the difference remap wise between sports cat and full decat wont be that massive anyhow.
