Default VIN code query

The VIN decoder on this site doesn't recognise my car's VIN number, which is worrying me. Can anyone shed any light on a Hawk STi VIN that starts with JF1GDFKH. The model code is GDFGKEH.

thanks

What's the applied model code as the first part of the vin relates to an early hawk STi, will start with GDB**** and have 7 digits

Wow, thank you. Surfing the web I couldn't find this info. It ties up. The "F" is higher power turbo, K is for RHD and H for 6 speed. That ties up!

Let me guess by your applied model code that your have a 2007 2.5l Hawk WRX STi.

I've started researching applied codes and found that GDB only seems to relate to 2.0 STis (GDA for WRX)
When looking at 2.5l cars I assume STi is GDF and know that GDG is WRX.

*edit* Don you beat me to it and confirms what I've found out so far. Can I ask where you got that from?

All info from the relevant interactive workshop manuals (manuals are now html/pdf based rather than the previous pdf only)

I am having the same problem - the tool on here is not recognising my VIN - and neither is the link from the wishbone recall thread on here (the subaru recall link)?

JF1GGAKD34G

Can you help Don?

Thanks,
Paul

MY04 WRX wagon

As all wagons were equipped with steel front arms yours "should" be included.
The VIN requires the serial number part as well, although I get the impression the VIN tool attached to Scoobynet tools is for US VINs only.

For Identification info - Page 52 onwards........

Thanks Don, that is correct - but odd that the Subaru recall check link isn't recognising the VIN (including the serial number). I have contacted Subaru....

Cheers,
Paul

Small update - had a response from Subaru (can't fault that service), VIN is correct, and the only recall work outstanding is the airbag one - will look at getting that sorted asap.

Cheers,
Paul

Default Vin code query

Hi all 👋

Could anyone decide this VIN for me please?

JF14GD45M76H063151

It should be a 2006 STI with DCCD

Apologies a typo. Yes it’s a JF1GD45M76H063151.

I tried a couple of decoders but the chassis is not recognized.

Thanks!

Thanks!

That’s very strange as it is not a swap.

Does it give you the colour and any other spec like market destination and optionals etc.?

The engine number on the registration documents (not the engine type) states 714049. I am not sure if from that number one can also verify the e fine type…?
