Wondering how many are still alive ?

I was under impression a total run of 550 ?
So is that 550 each variant or combined ?
I would assume it's the JDM if the president of heavy industries handed them 000 & 001

I owned an 04 Petter Solberg 2003 before my S204 and sold it to my pal Nathan. He sprinted it at oulton park and came second in S1, totally standard. Great car in fact I think it's a better road car than a spec c as it's similar but with creature comforts. Just my opinion and I've owned both.

(Darren, you old car looks very nice. Although in the photos it's the missing the forged BBS wheels that it would have come with out of the factory.)
I too own a JDM STi V-Limited and rate it a phenomenal proposition. All the benefits of the MY04 JDM including twin-scroll and quick rack, plus some extras including the Spec-C roof flap, BBSes and Suretrac front diff. The handling balance is less understeer-prone compared to later and earlier variants due to the 35F:65R DCCD torque bias compared with 45F:55R for the bug and 41F:59R for the hawk. For me, the Spec C's handicap is its tiny tank so the full 60ltr version on this car is very welcome. Its rarity imparts a feel-good factor.
They made a total of 555 examples of the JDM cars in WRX and WRX STi versions.

Ok, so we have the JDM STI V Limited, based on the GL version car (not the Spec C), had the roof vent and BBS alloys and a funky spoiler, all came in WR blue
The Petter Solberg edition was a run of 500 cars, not 550, those that went to the UK became the WR1 and had the 320ps PPP fitted, they also had standard anthracite 17 inch wheels which were sold off when they fitted the 18's, everywhere else they kept the 265ps and base model features.

Poisitive, I saw the first 2 in the country back in 2004, its based on the GL, the Spec C never had a v limited version, just a limited, and it would have retained the 50ltr fuel tank, no rear wiper (seriously big givaway as no spec c has a rear wiper) and sound proofing.
GL version with a roof vent
GL version with a roof vent
