Default Drivers Electric Window Switch

Hi all,

07Hawk STi.
Just been out, as I pushed down on the driver window switch and I thought I heard something snap / break....but just kind of ignored it I suppose....wasn't sure it was the switch.

Anyway, something has broken though as now there isn't such a defined line between being able to put the window up or down in stages, or up and down in auto.

Both functions work, but the switch now doesn't have the usual resistance between functions if you see what I mean.

I may take the whole assembly off the door card and see if I can fix anything obvious.....but is taking this assembly off just the one screw down in the door pull? It's got a small cover over it.

I can't see anything else fixing it on, maybe just also some trim clips?

Any advice would be coolio....

Many Thanks.

Yeah it's just the screw under that cover and a metal Spring clip further forward. Dead easy to take out. Only problem being the switch assembly itself is really hard to come by (assuming it's the same as the Wrx).

Cheers dude. Yes, this is what worries me, pricey from a dealer, but not so bad if I can get just the one driver side switch, not needing the whole assembly......if it's silly money I'll just live with it.

Not too bad then, I was expecting at least double that. I wonder if they can do just one switch and I fit it to the assembly?

As far as I'm aware it only comes in a whole unit. My drivers switch went completely, I couldn't even get the window up, thankfully the car is garaged and the new switch worked fine.

To remove the plugs from the unit there's a small tab you need to push in to undo the clip, I couldn't work out how to do it and came on here for help!

Thought so, thanks mate. It may be the colder / warmer weather that knackered a plastic part in the switch.

Pretty much, all 4 switches are mounted to a single circuit board. You might be able to separate them if you're very (very) careful but I doubt you'll be able to buy a single switch.

Fixed.

Took off the assembly, undid the 3 screws that hold on the 4 Nissan switches module, then the cap for the drivers switch....prised it off gently.
Found a small triangular piece of plastic about 3mm tri...that had come off from "somewhere"

Managed to find out where it came from (the underside of the switch cap) so Gorilla glued it back and strengthened the join with Q-Bond granules, again mixed with Gorilla super glue.

Re-greased the little rocker bearings with Shell Retinax....all I had.

Put everything back together and the jobs a good-un. Just don't know for how long......

Thanks for all the input, much appreciated.

Me too. If it breaks again I'll just get a new module.

So far saved some money, so I like that! lol
