Surely it will still depend on your age and ncb and any claims you have made in the last 5 years

I have a classic policy on a well-modded 98.

Depends on your age and claims history. Also your annual mileage. Mine is under 2000 miles now.

Pointing out the obvious why don't ask who he's insured with and call them?

Also - most if not all classic policies will require you have a second car and that the classic is not your primary transport.

It'll be with Footman James.

Classic policies won't suit everyone.
As Wilkoca pointed out most classic policies should be for a second car, and doing low miles (less than 5000 normally)

You also don't earn any NCB

They also tend to be limited when you modify the car.
I spoke to a guy the other day who currently has a classic policy elsewhere but is having to shop around, as re-mapping his car resulted in a 100%+ rise in his premium.

Most specialist brokers such ourselves, Greenlight, A Plan etc can offer policies that although won't be quite as cheap as a classic policy, will retain the benefits of a private car policy, and be very mod friendly, whilst still being cheaper than a mainstream insurer as they are specialist policies
