little black plug

Default little black plug

hello people got a 98 s reg turbo and am changing my head unit over when i took the old alpin one out i noticed a little black clip style plug coming from the loom does any one no what its for also has anyones scooby got the alpine 6 cd changer under the passenger's seat want to no how to remove it please many thanks

I think the black 'clip' type connector is the ground lead that attaches to the standard head unit ?

Acording to my user recips and bills thd alpine was fitted as factory and has no amp or outo areil

It's probably bolted through the floor,normally 4 bolts....

My my97 which had the Philips HU and changer. I took the seat out (4bolts)...4 screws that hold the changer to the bracket,and 4 self tapping screws holding the changer brackets to the floor. Rust proof/seal the holes after removing.

Note; I didn't have side impact airbags in the seats. If yours does (yellow connector under seat), disconnect the battery before removing and reconnecting and don't reconnect the battery until it's plugged back in otherwise your airbag light will come on (MOT fail ) and will need a OBD tool to reset

Black connector went to a metal tab on top of the head unit. It's just an extra ground.
