Default 2.1 turbo choices

I cant decide what turbo to go for with a 2.1 cdb build with avcs heads and cams.

aiming to break the 500bhp maker on v power with good early spoo as I hate a laggy turbol and response

id even consider going twinscroll car will be used for a fast road/ track car.

what are you opinions?

I've been looking at something very similar and to break 500bhp on vpower with a nice spooly turbo is tough going! It u want to go twisted a billet 30 with 0.63 housing would the best of both worlds 500+bhp and great spool, add a splash of meth and u could be 550-600 :-). If u wanted to keep standard Postion a s206 or MD321v will see u knocking on the door of 500 and if ur lucky may break that Magic 500 on vpower.

on my old classic with a 2.1 and s206, I had 450 bhp 400 lbft, then had the billet wheel fitted, but sold the car. From what I read, it then went on to be over 500

My 2.1 s206 on standard cams and ODB, was pulling 517hp on v power and 550+(? Never tested) on the meth map. Before the billet upgrade I did 485hp on v power and 535 on meth.

New engine with all the trimmings will hopefully see me close to 600 on an s206. I don't know what full boost rpm will. Be, but significantlylower than the previous engine I am sure

Stop trying to make him scared J.Anything over 450bhp can be a handful though so just take your time when its built if its your first time at those power levels.SJ.

I've got over 400bhp and that's plenty for a road car and that can scare me at times.

I wouldn't want 500+ for a road car maybe if I was using it more on track I might?

But then again if I went in a 500+ I may change my mind

No one strictly NEEDS 500hp, however, it is fun , 500 is too much in a classic to use on road 100%. Mine regularly wants to kill me....

Lol i agree. 500 is a lot for the road. The speed u catch things is unreal you've got to be focused 100% at all times when foot to floor. My legs start shaking after i do a few runs but it's soo much fun weeeeeee

Oh I am well aware of that, but no matter how good you are, when you push things, it bites back, that is the joys of a classic...

Yep, if you use your full 500hp, things happen at an alarming rate, you need to be fully aware and on the ball at all times. Scariest moment I had was over taking 3 cars, coming up over a hill and the car probably a 1/4mile away did an emergency stop, I caught him at an alarming rate of knots and with cold brakes made it interesting on how to stop the thing!

Ive been in a classic with a forged 2.5 and S206 turbo and I cant imagine anything quicker, the way the car accelerated was unreal, but I guess once you get used to it its never enough, and you want more and more!!

Personally I find 350bhp in a classic more the enough for the road!!
