FY53LYX potential purchase
Hi. I'm in the market for another Impreza and came across one for sale at Clive's Presige in Lancashire. On paper it reads and looks excellent, however I have read the many horror stories about Clive and his merry band of men.
I'm wanting to know if anyone on here has any first hand knowledge of the vehicle in question or even its previous owner is a member.
The cars a black blob eye with 32k on the clock and one owner and is priced at £8000 which I accept is on the expensive side, but should it be a mint car I'd be happy to haggle. My last Impreza was a 2000 classic with one owner which I regret selling every day. After paying a fortune for.
Many thanks and any info will be greatly received
Chris

I was looking at a Blob eye with 30k miles and i e mailed them asking specifically what condition the paint work was in and the interior, i wanted to know if the were any fine marks on the steering wheel etc, they told me it was immaculate and clean. Because it had 30k on i believed him and drove a hour and a half to find the steering wheel looked like it was from a car with 160k on the clock and the body work was tired, it was surrounded by cars with flat tyres.
Not bought from them but i would avoid the place just because they couldn't even tell me the truth about the condition of the car. a quick google search shows other peoples opinion on them

Cheers. I think I'll give them a wide birth. It's a couple of hours drive for me and I don't want to waste my time if they are selling sub standard cars.
I was willing to overlook the poor service if the car was as described as I wouldn't hear them for servicing or anything.

Go have a look.....you never know it could be mint.
They have bought a few off here and jacked the prices right up and by all accounts there after sales isn't worth **** all.
I've bought plenty off shady sellers you just have to look at the cars harder as you know you will get nowhere once you hand the readies over and leave.
Just remember they are lying ******* and most of there stock is way over priced.

I'd personally recommend James at Ribble valley sports and prestige very straight forward. Easy to talk to down to earth and don't sell nowt dodgy all straight and checked over by Subaru specialist Brian @cams,
an honest trader as they all should be hope you find a gudun

Thanks for the replys. I may have a ride through next week and have a look for myself. If nothing else I'll get to see their version of a mint car compared to my idea. I'll post my findings.
Again thanks

I've read most of them. it does make for grim reading. I haven't read much of specific cars being bad but haven't read all the threads. There does seem to be a theme of poor after sales. Have there been many believedley good cars gone bang or is it just the snotty staff and can't be arsed attitude ? I did find the fake second purchaser offering 500 more than asking price quite embarrassing
