Default Central locking not working

I have to manually lock/unlock my doors now and the central locking stopped working. I changed the battery, no luck.

The doors still lock if I press the alarm/immobiliser fob, so they still function. Though I don't use the fob, as the alarm is a major pain in the ***. I have not used it in years and would rather manually unlock the door with the key, but that too is a pain.

I guess the circuitry in the key is dead? How can I fix this problem?

Cheers.

Model and year?

So......are we saying that the c/l works with the key fob, but NOT when you try and do it by using the key in the keyhole?

Door motor solenoid, located in drivers door.
Either it's broken or the rod has come off, easy fix

the central locking mechanically still works via pressing the immobiliser fob... but not from the actual key, which is what i need.

it's a 2004/2005 blobeye.

Have you had the door card off? Sounds like a rod broke or has come loose.

i don't think you are understanding.

the central locking still physically works. it locks/unlocks so therefore there is not a mechanical problem with it.

when i press 'open' or 'lock' on the key itself, it does not work.

i have a key and an immobiser/alarm fob. both can operate the central locking, the key no longer works - and i'd like to fix that.

Ok so see if I have It right, the separate fob works to lock/unlock.
The key works to lock/unlock(when you put it in the key hole)
But the button on the key doesn't work to lock/unlock.

Sounds like the button on the key is faulty, take apart clean and see if that sorts it.

yes. seems like the key is faulty.

open or lock doesn't work on the key.

had it opened up a few times, seems ok. changed the battery, tried it both ways. can't get it to work
