Best Place to sell a Car
Hi all, I am looking to sell my Subaru very soon and gauging the best place on the web to sell, Autotrader seems quite expensive and Pistonheads fairly reasonable.
Any opinions?

depends on what price, Gumtree for cheapness under £1500, eBay for average and autotrader for high value (£10k+)
But just my opinion, there is always the option of selling on this site?

Had to sell my cheap run about recently and I paid £17 quid to advertise on E-bay with not a single sniff, put it on Gumtree which is free and got plenty of calls/emails, some of them where complete idiots mind, but got 1 guy come round and didnt even test drive it, handed the cash to me and went on his way!!

Pistonheads is pretty good for a decent car, ive sold some of my more expensive cars on there after a couple of days. Gumtree you will get the odd "will you swap for my Vauxhall Insignia" so be prepared for idiots who just want to talk to you with no intentions of buying, so not sure what it would be like for more expensive cars!!

I've been trying to sell my legacy twinscroll on ebay for just over a month now and no offers whatsoever, even dropped the price a couple of times. I'll be looking for alternative places to sell soon as well as want it gone lol.
I wanted to stay clear of gumtree because it always seems a bit scummy lol but might give it a go. i've bought lots of cheap things off gumtree before but never a half decent car.
I don;t really use facebook but tempted to fire that up as well to maximise my options. Might try pistonheads and this site too as recommended above to try and maximise my chances.

Have you got a link to your car, might be something simple in the advert that needs changing.

People might be put off by the fact it's had an engine swap, I was told by the dealer who repaired it not to bother putting it in the ad but I don't want to be dishonest about it. Since it's been up I've been watching all the other twinscrolls on ebay and none seem to be selling any quicker than mine.
It is now advertised on ebay, gumtree, facebook and scoobynet so hopefully get it sold a bit quicker.

Don't see why that would put people off mate. Unless they wanted it all original
Add JDM to the title. Don't know too much about them but is it the WR1 edition might be getting the name completely wrong lol.

Thanks for having a look at the ad, much appreciated. I'll definitely add JDM to the title that's a really good idea.
It's just a GT as far as I'm aware, might be worth me adding that in

fwiw, it's a very well presented and worded ad, and you come across as a decent honest guy.
Looks a really nice motor too! After all that work, it's a shame you can't keep it!

Cheers mate. yeah it is a shame but the impreza isn't worth enough to clear my debts unfortunately, if it doesn't sell this month I'll sell the impreza instead. It's the first time i've ever had a new clutch in a car and it feels amazing, such a difference.
If i knew the legacy was going to be fixed this quickly I wouldn't have bought the impreza in the first place, it's only because I thought i was going to have to go all the way to court which could have taken the best part of a year that i bought it. Straight after the legacy went I bought a clapped out old y reg megane soft top for £400 just to get me around but that thing was a bit of a death trap and did NOT feel like something that would last a year, the brakes had a habit of working really well around 90% of the time, then occasionally would seize and cause mysterious brown stains to appear in my boxers lol.
It won't be the end of the world if I have to sell the impreza but I only paid £4750 for it and don't see it selling for more than £5,500 if I'm lucky, right now I need the money.
