2016 WRX STi what is new?
I see that the 2016 WRX STi is now at the dealers apart from a new radio (doesnt seem to have nav?) what else does it have that is new for 2016? It doesn't say anything on the Subaru site.

and as now they are getting 335bhp out of the new 2.0 DI engine in Japan when will we be getting that engine???

Well something needs to change for Subaru to catch up. The wrx is using the DI engine so I agree it would be a better package and can push out 268 Bhp without tuning. Clearly it can also push out much higher values as shown in the type s at 335 Bhp. I may wait a bit longer but now they have the a class Amg the rs3 and maybe the golf r420 to compete with. Used to be Subaru led on performance.

Not sure where you get the 335BHP from.
The current JDM 2.0L (EJ207) WRX STi puts out 308Ps (301BHP)
The "Type S" version is just that it comes with the high level rear spoiler.

The current JDM WRX S4 and 2.0L Levorg (2.0L DIT) puts out 300Ps (296BHP) and are both VTD-AWD

From the brochure you supplied, and I am not convinced it will apply in UK as I can already see some contradictions.
1) Radio
2) Reverse Camera
3) Full Leather (You can see above that UK car doesn't have full leather)
4) Sun Roof (Don't believe UK car has this)
5) Additional Colours (Again not seeing any evidence of new colours for UK)
6) Brake Assist

Yes, that article is dated 27/08/2014 ( Denis Flierl G+ 2014-08-27 07:22) when we were all hoping the WRX STi would get the new DIT engine........

For me it was simply lack of confidence in the product
I've had many cars for 33 years and didn't expect to pay a premium price for a car thats engine went pop at 42k miles and 40 months I wanted to run the car for ten years before changing it
The Greenwagon I will keep forever as money is no object with it as it's a classic iconic car but why would I buy a new STi at 30k with just three year warrenty after subarus dreadful reputation once 2008 and the 2.5 when rather then if it pops problem
A great shame for Subaru and it's once fanatical following as 30 k isn't really expensive for a smart looking decent performance car compared to the slightly dearer RS and
excellent type R and for those with more money the fantastic Merc and more sober looking BMW
Add a few alternative cars such as the mustang at 33k ,cheaper mx5 and Toyota GT86 which looks a. Monster with the big Wing and subaru have a real job persuading its customers like ourselves to buy another

Tom
Crap 2.5 engine and even worse after sales warranty.
Much much much better new cars available like those mentioned above.
Subaru as a brand in the u.k. Is back where it was pre impreza days.
The sioc element has just about finished it off.
The tuners will disapear in the future as there will be no cars left to tune.

You can't afford any new car , how You can know are much better cars than new sti when You never drive one
they improve handling on sti than i dont think wrx is better in any way
its still manual with good steering response
they should do light version ,similar what bmw did with M cars

I've gone for the new civic type r it's coming in Dec (I've been waiting 3 months for it) it's a awesome machine and you would never know it was a FWD the way it turns in and goes round corners it almost feels like a RWD
I sold my Subaru for the new civic I was looking at the 2016 STI it's cheaper then the type r but all the engine problems i went for the Honda
