Help - My car has eaten a pigeon
As above, i was driving to work this morning on a fast a-road when a suicidal pigeon jumped out on me. At first i thought it had just hit my car and exploded into a ball of feathers but after stopping at work and looking into the bonnet scoop ive realised that wasnt the case!
So Ive pulled the mangled carcass out and picked all the feathers out of the intercooler but is there anything else i need to do? Just worried it may have done some damage i cant see

I actually burst out laughing at this! Used to work at Eurotunnel for several years and always came across lorries with sparrows, pigeons ect stuck on their grills but never heard of this!

Luckily it got caught between two of the fins in the scoop so just feathers on the intercooler - although only half the pigeon was left. I have no idea where the other half went!

Came across (shush!) two love-struck pheasants at speed in the middle of the road one evening. Slammed on the brakes and missed the first but the second one probably never knew what hit it.
£600 all in for the new grille, bonnet repair and front end respray.
A bird strike ain't cheep!

Had a bird hit the roof of the car just above the windscreen on the drivers side whilst I was proceeding up the M4 early one morning.....hell of a bang but didn't see where the bird went

You obviously weren't going fast enough!, I once hit a rabbit at over 130mph when I opened the bonnet up all that was left was a few bits of fur & rabbit pellets all over the engine bay!

Mystery solved....the bird was cut in half by the bonnet scoop half in the engine the other half bounced across the roof and left a trail of guts all the way onto my spoiler. Feel sorry for the lad who had to clean it off at the car wash but he did see the funny side
