head gasket going?? help
Starting plumbing in my 3 port oil catch can this morning, everything going fine when i snip the rubber hose to get a straight tee onto the exsiting hose which runs to the right hand side of the engine (battery side think its crank breather) when i notice inside some white gunk (see pic)
Is this normal or is the headgasket going? Checked dipstick and around oil cap and no gunk on either of them! Car drives fine no issues (54 reg subaru impreza wrx sti jdm 2.0)
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks

don't panic yourself just yet.... what your seeing could simply be condensation in the oil breathers. if you do short journeys and the oil doesn't reach a good temp this can be common.

Cheers guys! Checked the rest of the pipe and seems to only be where that one bend was! And there was a bead of water in there too! Recently fitted fmic and a few other bits so just done a few trips round the block off boost to check still running correctly, so like you said could be condensation as i havent really gave it a chance to get up to tempreture! The car is going in for mapping on moday at rcm so i will mention it to them and if they think it needs a sniff test i will get it done.
Thanks again guys
Thanks again guys

my advice, run it for a few good miles, not just a short run, then pull the pipe and see. also note that if you fitted a catch can that vents to atmosphere you will see creamy residue in there due to atmospheric moisture getting into the can.
