I've seen two potential cars, online not in the flesh, both at different ends of the country.
Both classic wagons.
One is a UK Turbo V Reg, very low miles, low owners, a nice standard car.
The other, an STi V2 555, low miles, has had some work, but pretty standard.
The STi is about a thousand more than the UK turbo, which is a lot when the budget is around 3k.
Really not sure what to do.
I like the idea of the UK Turbo as it's untouched.
I like the idea of the STi as it's a bit special.
I'll probably have to decide which to see first, and if it's good I'll buy it, so not get to see the other...

Another vote for the STI, 2 main reasons. 1st it's probably not spent 15 winters in the UK, 2nd it's a bit more special and will hold onto it's value if kept in good condition.
Wagons aren't to everyones taste but if you want something cheap, quick and practical they're unbeatable, come re-sale time a clean standard STI will always be more desirable, also more powerful out the box, just make sure it gets mapped or at least checked on the rollers by a competent Subaru specialist.
