Hello, does anyone know where I maybe able to find a replacement gear box for my 2004 wrx
my old one would cost me more than I would like , so want to put a second hand one in as I miss my Subaru! buses aren't as fun

 

Speak to mb developments on here,he may have one .....

 

locally to me is a place called 'le scoobies'. theyre a pretty good (and cheap) breakers and have a facebook site aswell with details. used them quite a few times now and had no qualms and the guys that work there are pretty sound :-)

 

If you had asked just last week I would have had one here for you but sadly after a spirited drive shall we say I blew 3rd gear so had to use the spare box

My fella wasn't happy when I told him he'd have to change the box for me lol

Not much help I know but I still have the knackerd box here ( stripped teeth off third )

Still ran and drove fine through all other gears just err not 3rd

Thanks Dirk Diggler 75 and Themaskedunit I will check them both out, seems to be really hard to find one atm, hopefully I will find a late Easter egg with those guys

 

thanks for your reply t4and greys I will ask exactly whats wrong with mine again, the mechanic did tell me but I was a little shocked at how much it would cost I didn't really take it in !

Sorry you've had a hard time with your gear box too, it sucks

 

Yep just week into ownership of this car for me and blew the box hahaha
Still it's all sorted now and sure you'll hopefully be same soon like I said may be enough spares from this knackerd box of mine to help towards rebuilding yours if that's the path you choose
