Default Hermes

Anyone had a problem with this delivery firm? I bought a part from a private seller paid for the goods via my credit card on paypal and the seller shipped it with Hermes. I checked the tracking number and my parcel is showing as delivered and signed for by me even though nobody was home and no parcel was left? Contacted Hermes who told me as I was the person receiving the parcel and not the one who sent it they couldn't tell me anything due to contractual agreements. Contacted the seller who says he will chase them why would he when he has his money and it shows as delivered to my address and signed for by me, what else can I do? Tried raising an issue with paypal but it referred me back to the auction site I bought it off and the site told me I couldn't do anythihg until after the 20th of this month. It's not a lot of money but I'm fuming no parcel, money taken and no help from the delivery service any thoughts what I can do?

I've never heard of hermes saying they cant tell you anything. I've had issues with various companies and they've always been fine when phoning them (as either receiver or sender). A lot of them now take photos of the house delivered to, also what name is on the delivery? If it doesn't match yours then it's clearly somewhere else, if it does match your name then either the driver has pulled a fast one with your goods or someone else has nearby. I pulled up to my house a few weeks ago and there was a delivery driver at my door, he was delivering my iPhone 6, he asked if it was my house and i said yes, didn't ask for any ID or anything, just asked me to sign and handed it over. I could have been anyone for all he was bothered.

I'm sure the seller will help, if it was me, regardless of having the money, i'd still chase it up for the buyer, i think very few would wash their hands and say it's your problem mate.

**** me, have you got shares with them? Everyone knows that Hermes are the cheapest **** poor reputation company of them all.

You even said they only lost a couple of parcels, but that was ages ago! Ah that's alright then

Also every driver that's ever delivered to me looks like they'd been let out for the day

They last lost a parcel years ago, and got my money back for it easy, cheque came though job done.

I couldn't careless if they loose the parcel, as long as i get my money back for it, at least then i don't have to pay paypal fees when i refund the buyer, so end up making more, wheres the down side lol

Its cheap, reliable, good customer service, all the ingredients for a nightmare company

If you want a driver who's an ex model, then i'm sure theres a company out there for you

Jaygsi. All I can say is you have had a good run and been lucky. Everytime I know a parcel is coming from them I hold my breath cus its a lottery.( Previous experiences for me and family members )

I'm well aware that all couriers have problems, but in my experience they are the worst. But if your happy keep buying your shares and crack on.

And as for wanting models to deliver my parcels? not really, just ones who don't look like they've stepped off the set of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.

Still no parcel but the sender is making a claim so I will get a refund so it's not all bad. I'm happy the sender just didn't wash their hands of it all and say tough s**t I'm not helping out.

In the past year, I have sent probably around 1000 parcels with Hermes and have two that went missing and one that arrived damaged. Pretty good statistics...the only nag from me is they can take a day and an age to deliver. Horse and cart style.

Unfortunately, as there is a signature on file, eBay will decide in favour of the buyer once investigating...however they are known to sometimes refund the buyer themselves from their own pocket to keep the buyers coming back. So good luck.

Just because hes received a broken light means nothing, Hermes do say all items are to be boxed, the amount of things i've received not boxed is insane.

Someone off here sold me some spot lights and packed them facing each other, glass to glass, when they arrived broke he was complaining about the courier, when in all fairness it was the sellers rubbish packing skills, couriers can't stop prats from there poor packing skills, so far more people are saying good things about hermes than bad. It could be your delivery driver thats the week link

Never sent anything using them, but have had loads and loads of stuff delivered. Other than blocking the cat's entry into her cat flap with packages, never had a single problem.
