Default UK300 Value?

A friend of mine bought a UK300 at the weekend...having driven around 100 miles of the journey home he had to pull over due to smoke pouring out the back. It was towed home and then taken to a local specialist who have advised that the bottom end has gone! It's not running the original engine, but a 2.5 fitted new 17k miles ago.

Looks like it's a case of the Pistons melting on a 2.5 again!

Obviously he's pretty downhearted...and being new to Subarus it's not the best way to start!

It's looking like he doesn't feel like investing another few grand on a full engine rebuild, so will be weighing up options.

Any idea what the current approx max value of a UK300 is right now?

If it's got all the original seats, spoilers, lights and wheels a few hundred quid more than a UK Bugeye WRX, so not much.
