P1's & UK300's - How many are left for sale?
Similar questions have been seen in other threads before but, my bro had been to a Scoob dealer in Scotland at the weekend & they had the following:
4 UK300's (incl. 1 Demo)
2 P1's (incl. 1 demo)
2 or 3 Limited edition sports in yellow
The deals being offered were not that brilliant apparently.
Wondered if we could kinda total up the number of UK300's & P1's left throughout the country still to be sold?
Yours curiously

I heard that there are still over 100 UK300's unsold and around 70 P1's....
If true (I'm sure it is), makes you realise all that IM tosh that's been said about "demand exceeding supply" etc...

Good point, P1's are still readily available after over 18 months of trying to sell only 1000 cars!!!
There are 300 (?) of the pug ugly and quite frankly not too exciting UK300 (Even Autocar doesn't like them )... I wonder how long they will take to sell?
I know one thing, you can't sell either one second hand at the moment...

Hi All
(except CharlieP) (only kidding)
UK300's in the south are mostly sold yet in the midlands and scotland I found 15 for sale from 10 dealers (one dealer in Yorkshire said sales had slumped due to the foot & mouth). Subaru are in the process of re distributing the UK300's not sold and are also doing deals with dealers whereby thay can have another UK300 allocation if they take delivery of 2 Legacy's (not selling). You might have guessed I have a UK300 and luv it
With the STi due for release soon I think the P1's will stay on the shelf. Times move on and the new shape is with us...
I take it diplomacy is not one of CharlieP's strong points

I bought my new WRX from Town & County a few weeks ago and they had 3 x UK300 & 2 x P1 still available. I wanted a WR Blue and the computer said there were none but they tracked me down one in 2 days. Excellent service.

Maybe the glut of P1s and UK300s explains why IM is holding back on releasing prices for the STi.
If rumour be believed that the STi will cost "significantly less than 30k" (source Autocar) it could mean the new car sells better than the old special editions.
I am considering upgrading my MY00 at the moment for a STi/P1/Evo 6 and am in a slight dilemma as to which will be the better bet.
On the UK 300 I was a little dismayed when I went to see this "exclusive" model at my local dealer (Tileys) that they had no less than three in the Showroom. (And what colour would you like yours in sir).
New STi press pics do look good though (although they must be the Prodrive tweaked model right?).
If any dealers reading this and wants to off load a P1 for say £25k plus generous trade in for mine then I will gladly help IM's cause. I cant say fairer than that.

i am in same dliemma want to upgrade uk my00.
i'm interested in the STi - pics etc look good even though the power output figure quoted is disappointing.
30k- no way - nicely under then it might get the nod over an Evo6/7.
my dealer has serveral uk300's - 2 were sold and one just arriving on transporter. he said they got extra allocation for selling a couple !
personally the P1 is now 'old' - how long have they been hanging around ? being sold since Dec 99 ? first ones delivered may 2000? and i do not want a 2 door car.
uk300's IMHO are overpriced - if the 25k gave you the PPP then ok but not 25k without it.
i'll wait til UK STi prices released and the UK Evo 7.

Does the fact that all P1s and UK300s havent sold yet make them bad cars??? I dont think so.
There is just not enough enlightened people around to realise how good these cars are.
Even at £31k and 26k, there is little else performance wise to touch these cars.
There seem to be a lot of people who delight in slagging off these cars and various other scoobs. I thought this was meant to be a pro-scooby bbs.
Sorry, Rant over - bad day

I have been proudly showing my car off at work and several of the lads are hotfooting it down to their local dealers to investigate. When I started selling these when I was in the trade in 1996 hardly anyone new what Imprezas were. I won a dealer competition and had a rally experience day at Prodrive which culminated in a trip in the new WR car with Colin McRae - video and pictures included !!

The Dealer was in fact Town & County in Perth. Looks like they have had a salesman clear out recently (one of their now ex-salesmen rolled a UK300 at a Knockhill track day a few weeks back)
Don't think most folks are saying that these cars are bad just that the demand for them does not seem to be what it was for the previous limited editions (Series Macrae, Catalunya, Terzo & RB5). I don't know why they (IM) don't allow the dealers to sell the P1's that are left off to "valued" customers at reduced prices. They are not doing a good PR job by making it difficult for dealers to sell them. After all as we know the P1 model is getting on for 18 months old now!

Hey, if I wanted to be a diplomat I would have bought a VW
As it is I have a P1, it is to say the least an spectacular car; most Impreza owners spend a lot of money to get a car with 280 bhp and 0-60 of 4.6 secs... but IM have mis-judged the market, they have put too much trust in lack-luster dealers and the ability of the impreza reputation... There are too many P1's and the UK300 is not good enough (ever the diplomat eh?)
How to regain the market??? well the sti prodrive needs to be f%£king good and the dealers need to put service before profit (the two actually go in hand surprisingly enough.) Ah, I mentioned dealer profit; seems like we're f%£ked anyway

I'm not a big fan of the new shape Scoob, but I saw a UK 300 in the flesh at the dealer's and it did look mighty cool. I think those new headlights make a big difference. I'm surprised there are many left (if that is the case...), as I thought 300 was just the right number.
I still lust after a P1 though, and consider it the classic UK Scoob.

The dealers must still think there is a market for the P1 because I have been offered prices upto 25.5K in PX for a standard car that is 7 months old with 13K on the clock.

Diablo - If you ask for a guy called Neil Millar - he has newly been appointed General Manager. He is a mate of mine and will do wonders with that dealership. I have had excellent service and a cracking deal - and he has 3 x UK300 left, a P1 in the showroom and is running a P1 demo.

huh?? Are you sure your dealer was offering the UK300 in different colours. I'm pretty sure they just come in MB. Not that I'd have had mine any other way

Pete I was only joking about the colour. (If buyers want them in another colour then they will have to wait until the paint starts flaking off)
My point was gave the wrong impression of the exclusivity of the UK300 to see them all lined up in the showroom.

The P1 was the end of the line, it had to be kick *** and by all accounts is... pig ugly though. The UK300 was released only months after the birth of the new shape, if they gave it P1 performance what would they offer as an upgrade in the coming years... it's a sweet car all the same.

I still say that if IM got its act together - it could sell all its P1's in days!!!
PRICE THEM AT WHAT THEY ARE NOW WORTH - £21499 Sounds about right
Saw an advert on subaru.co.uk for a P1 at £32k !!!!! When will they realise no-one will buy an outgoing car unless its priced CHEAP!!!
I'd have one for 21.5 large - anyone else????

I think the problem is IM/dealers are being unrealistic about values.
I looked at old shape turbo and new shape WRX a few months ago, drove both etc, asked what they could do for me on old shape - answer a couple of hundred pounds, yet the MY01 has at least £2k more extras and IMHO a better chasis and is a lot better finished inside. Result I got a couple of hundred quid off a MY01 and they still had not sold the old model some 8 weeks later, although they had reduced the forcourt price!

It depends how hard your dealer wants to work for the deal. Mine phoned IM and told him that I was going to buy another Accord Type R and IM gave him additional support. I also got some chucky at a daft rate.

Wilf,
I was being offered upto 25.5K for the P1 in PX for 30K+ car. The dealers in question were a number of BMW dealers in the NW and a Porsche dealer in the NW.
I have since realised the error of my ways after having to drive to Norwich each week, 50% of this journey is down single lane A roads and I can make the journey from Manchester M62 - A1 - A17 - A47... in around 3 hours, a colleague(A3 1.6) of mine takes the same route at the same time in the morning and he struggles to break 4 hours. Why? The P1 eats the A roads for breakfast and you can overtake where other cars wouldn't even think.
I would add that I never drive above 90 on the Motorway and above 70 on the A roads, except when overtaking
Cheers
