Default test your wrx knowledge with pics. 1-8

recently bought a un finished project, 2001 bugeye wrx. He nearly finished putting it new engine, but just ran out money and had to sell. have 8 questions as below. Mostly what is this pipe coming from? I need to fit a oil catch tank, however I have 3 pipes, but obviously only two inlets to the can. If you can answer any of the 1-8 below, that would be a big help. Thanks

Been told something about the seal, on this injector, can't reebok eat? Is there a rubber seal which perishes? Any way to check if it's working ok? Or can you buy a replacement seal?

Does this go to the catch can too, where abouts? Oh, seems I may have missed one of the 3 pipes. Doh. Basically there was one to left of throttle body und er intercooler and the two pictured (3 and 8). How do you plum these into the catch can, obviously need to T two together, but which ones

Right - req square you are missing the aircon pump.
#1 is the return line from the boost control solenoid.
#2 goes to the little vacume t piece off the manifold where the EGR valve plugs in pictured here along with your #3

#4 and #5 yeah that's the air con pipes.
#6 will either be the front o2 sensor OR the uppipe cat temperature sensor - sorry I can't remember which way round those two are ones top and ones bottom.

Yes you can get new injector seals just a rubber o ring that slips on.

As for installing a catch can, there are a few trains of thought on it so best get to reading:

also - is that a pipe cap cut up and glued onto the intercooler where the dumpvalve should be? that is ghetto as **** man!

also missing the intercooler crossover pipe and hoses

if that intercooler blank is the level of workmanship on the car i dread the think what the rest of it is like

Also, its running an sti inlet on a wrx, so you'll get an engine management light on for the TGV's that are no longer there, that IF you ever get it to run!

Think I'll go see Triton motorsport if they're still running for any remap needs. Well get it up and running is priority and get a mot. Rear calipers had been refurbed but sat up a year fronts are now seized, got them off the car, with a caliper refurb kit, having fun getting pistons out.

Got morrettes and sti spoiler on the way. Get a mot and then consider decat, vf35, sti pink injectors and intercooler, a remap.

Those are future plans, but getting her up and running correctly is currently a pain, trying to undo all their ghetto work!
