Default Buying advice

Thinking about viewing/buying a bug today. Aside from checking all the usual on viewing seller has sent me this;

"Its got like a exhaust knock on the rear (been like it for year or more) only hear wen the ratio is low and hit a harsh bumps and the bigger turbo with close to the steering rack. No play in the wheels ect"

Any tips or pointers appreciated, waited months for one to come along in my price

Well at least he was honest, you might not have heard any knocking when you drove it lol.

Mine done a sort of rattle knock from the exhaust, was one of the exhaust rubbers rattling so I cable tied it, no longer makes the rattling noise .

Mine only really done it at very low revs or when horsing it around 80mph lol
