Default Milltek back box users!!!

I have a milltek box back to put on my02 sti as loud isn't for me anymore lol!! But I'm struggling to find a 3" resonated centre section so just wondering if anyone else is using a 3" milltek back box with a different brand centre section?

Cheers harri

Yes i am, The problem you might find which is what i did is that the flange on the back box may not line up with the center section, In which case the flange needs to be cut off (backbox or center section) and rotated a little for it to mate up properly so the back box can sit straight at the back of the car.

I'm using a miltek 2.75'' back box with a 3'' cobra decat down pipe and 3'' cobra resonated centre section.

The flange on the miiltek is slightly off set to stop people using different exhaust brands with there products.
So I just had the flange grinded off and had it welded back in the correct position.

I have a Miltek on mine and the exhaust is more suited to each part and not mixed with other exhausts, the Miltek is one of the quiet exhaust as its the reason its on mine. If you pull it and put another on your car will gain at least 6 dcb's at the same revs and more hassle with the neighbours

Leave the exhaust as is, I don't know what you think this centre will do for your car but whatever your expecting it won't happen.

The Miltek is the most quiet exhaust going and adding a different centre will make virtually no difference to the Dcb's but if you have a map on your car you will then need it tweaking to allow for the restriction.

If you want to make the car quiet add a Prodive backbox but that won't be much of a difference to the Miltek maybe 2dcb's and that's with a power restriction due to 2.5" pipework.

Think you may have misunderstood mate!! Been trying to source a 3" milltek centre section to match the milltek back box I have brought as my current 3" system is too loud!!

I have a 05 sti with PPP, I'm considering a de-resonated Milltek cat back system for a little more rumble, would this be a good move or waste of money?

No misunderstanding as mine is a jap car so the straight thru Miltek system, adding a resonated centre will only make a few dcb's if that and it WILL affect any map on the car.

I bet m car on it you can't tell he difference by ear on a resonated or non resonated Miltek system

I currently have a 05sti PPP. And the prodrive exhaust is so quiet. Kinda hate how quiet it is. Would doing away with the back box change this or would I have to change all parts??

A back box change would increase the sound or you could change the centre section for a non-resonated one!! Are all cats still in place??
