Default To all running SC42 billet plus turbo

Looking for info in the numbers you made with what set up??

Not heard alot about them since the scoobyclinic thread so would be good to hear from the owners of this turbo especially those using it on a 2.1 with AVCS

Many thanks
Dan

What is the Billet Plus?

I have the Billet and with supporting mods I'm running 428bhp and around 370lb/ft torque on a 2.0 STi

Depends on supporting mods but with fmic tubular headers decat etc you will be around 430,450 with a splash of meth.

Does this mean with a lower boost setting on a SC42 one could run around 390/340 and preserve a 5 speed box?

Just buy the right turbo for the job. I.e. sc40
390 is too much for the entry level impreza gearbox anyway

Why not use an sc38/sc 40? ??

Use the smallest turbo available to reach your goal, as plump tom said it's too much for the 5 speed anyway.350 bhp and your on borrowed time

I was of the understanding that only torque kills a box.

I think lower boost to avoid torque on an SC38 might make the BHP too low to be worth it.

I know it will be laggy but could I get a gearbox friendly 430/330 from a SC46/SC50?

I'd call it compromising for your poorly specced impreza!

You think its low? I thought that torque was about right or if anything on the high side for a standard 2.0 sti.

Mines 413/355 with the same setup.

Nice, at what bar? I expect a WRX will make even less torque maybe.

Yeah seen on the scoobynet thread the 42 billet plus made 486bhp with only a decat and fmic on v power. Mine was at 427bhp but still had stock top mount and stock headers on a 2.1.

Now i have added rcm headers and up pipe, parallel fuel rails, fmic, bigger injectors, new induction kit. Also will be chucking some meth in for fun! Wonder what numbers it will see...

Hi there

On 2.0L this torque is OK,those larger turbo doesn't make lots of torque on 2.0L,when you will be mapping this turbo on 2.1L or 2.5L then those turbo start to make more torque

Just for record, our MDX321T has made 452bhp with 440lbft on 2.1L,on 2.0L usually this turbo making around 360-380lbft(I've seen few which has making 410lbft),on meth has made 490bhp with 480lbft

Thanks,Jura

Hi there

This turbo is rated at 420bhp,anything above that is only plus, with mods which you have fitted and will be mapped,I would suspect will make beyond 427bhp,I would suspect on 20% meth you should be close to 480bhp(although I suspect you will make bit more than 480bhp)

Power which you are made(427bhp) is pretty good,if this power is only on V-Power alone

Good luck with mapping there

Thanks,Jura

Just a tad more lag ie 4100 rpm maybe boost wont feel it on a road car tbh.

If you look at 430-450 will be a great road car.
