Default BugEye Respray

Hi All,

Just wanted to ask about a cost of a respray. O2C

What happened was, a lady hit the back of my car a few weeks ago and insurance agreed to do a new bumper and respray it and blend it all in.
This is all with a garage I have been using for a 4-5 years and they are insurance approved. Cost of repairs are about £1000

Now while I was showing them the car I said my arches on all side need to be resprayed as the paint is coming off and the front bumper and bonnet has so many stone chips, so I decided to get the get the rest resprayed and this would include Bumper, Bonnet incl Scoop, all Doors, Wings, Rear 1/4 , Spoiler and the insurance are paying for the rear.

Now the extra work the guy quoted me was £1600 ( Doesn't include spraying the roof, that's an extra £500!

Is this a bit steep, or does it sound about right, so technically the whole car is costing £3100! £1000 from insurance, £1600 from me, and £500 if I want the roof done!

Be good to hear some feedback on the prices or another spray shop someone can recommend. Based in Herfordshire.

Thanks

Cuprajake on here works for panel care in Rochdale, painted my black hawk sti and my dads blue bug wrx, both jobs where top notch, would not take my car anywhere else.

Insurance company wanted to send my car to one of there approved body shops, which I politely refused and said that it would be going to panel care in Rochdale, which is in my right where ever I want to send my car.

We would charge a max of £1500 at my place assuming it didn't need too many repairs etc. £3100 is taking the mick really, you could buy another carfor that.

That's cheap, but good and cheap never come hand in hand.

Do as much research as you can I thought I had found one of the best painters in the uk when I took my car to Herefordshire for a full respray big mistake

Agreed. A coach works that I use quoted me £1500 for a respray. Obviously that isn't an engine out job as the paint is good any way. So just had the rest bumper and front end reaprayed for £600 I think.

In your opinion, I wouldn't want to trust anyone else to paint my cars, my wagon and s3 looked the mutts nuts after a full respray.

My painter charges £100 a panel (providing they don't need loads of repairs) and is very very good.
