Would be a good idea to contact the outfits that have tuned the car to see what's been done.

API are a well known engine builder who are regarded highly. You would expect one of their forged builds to be a reliable unit.

(By the way, 400bhp forged 2.5s are quick cars).

The car is a little pricey but as the advert says, it is a low mileage cherished car and that's worth paying for. I'd haggle as hard as you can and see what you can get it for.

Doesn't say about pistons etc.. Might be worth contacting API and adgespeed

I think it's a lot of dollar for that but that's my opinion.

Looks nice, what's considered high mileage on these cars? How come it was rebuilt twice?

Questions for the seller first.

Then ask the people the did the work.

Let us know and we'll advise

With a good service history and record of parts replaced at suitable intervals, high mileage is not something I am bothered by personally, many of these cars are six, seven, eight years old so really anything under average mileage (a lot of Imprezas are daily drivers) is low and anything over that is high. 31,000 works out at less than 4000 a year on a seven year old car that's very low.

The date on the api one is 2008, (top left corner) that was done by the original owner, the current owner said he bought it off him 2 months ago drove it home and then had trouble with it caused by radiator fan not working, then had the work done by adgespeed last month to fix it, but now is selling cause as needs the money back, he had the car last week but spoke tonight and it's at the dreaded cheshire car performance as he is letting them sell it for him, said he will get it back if I want to see it, and said there is movement on price

Wayyyyyyyyyy over priced IMO, I'd be wanting a fully forged engine on a 2.5 before I would even consider it and even then it's still over priced at £12.5k.

I don't get why people think because they have spent money on a car making it as it should be, ie tyres with tread on them a proper service and everything working properly they should some how be compensated for this, cars cost money to maintain, simples, sometimes you get stung like I just have, full fluid change, new pads all round and winter rubber, so my car's now worth £3k more.

It's an £8k car without a forged engine regardless of the milage and £10.5k with a forged engine, the AST suspension is a nice touch, but all these newage STI's need the suspension changing anyway because it's **** and knoks it's tit's off so no surprise there, it's maybe had a twin scroll set up fitted, big deal, some of us like the burble, so what's he gona do sell it with no turbo or headers

Unless a car has major top quality up-grades like Syvecs, 2.35 engine, APS fmic, and a £2k turbo it's worth no more than any other bog standard car of similar age and miles, if people chose to pay more then thats up to them as it's not my money but I think you want to be paying in the region of £8/9k for a Hawk STI that doesn't have a forged engine because it's going to need one sooner or later.
